I pledge to:

  • 1 Reduce my screen time a little more each week, because too much screen time can make me feel anxious, distracted, or even sad.
  • 2 Go outside with family or friends for at least 30 minutes every day without a phone, tablet, or TV.
  • 3 Take time to notice the world around me and explore nature in my neighborhood – like birds singing or plants growing in the cracks of the sidewalk.
  • 4 Connect face-to-face with the people around me and be fully present, without digital distractions.

Why join the challenge?

The average child in the U.S. spends more than 7 hours a day on a screen and only 10 minutes outside playing. This contributes to a crisis of loneliness and anxiety, and it's impacting their physical health, too. Changing this trend must begin with the whole family.

Reducing screen time and increasing green time will help you:

  • Feel less stress and more calm.
  • Improve focus and attention.
  • Boost your mood and physical health.
  • Build stronger relationships with friends and family by connecting face-to-face.
  • Create a sense of belonging and appreciation for the local environment.
